Medicine on Second is a 12-doctor practice operating six days per week on the Sunshine Coast. Based in Maroochydore, Medicine on Second has won a number of awards including General Practice of the Year for QLD in 2007 and Enterprise of the Year for the Sunshine Coast in 2009. Nicky Jardine has also won Business Person of the Year for the Sunshine Coast in 2009 for her work as Medicine on Second’s Practice Manager.
Our old site was very tired and when we needed changes made we had to email our web development company, who would make the change when they could and then send us a bill. We were getting billed for changes as small as a single text sentence, which was very frustrating.
The price – using Web123 for our website meant we spent only a third of what we would have spent had we used another provider.

Building our new website took about two weeks and we did around 50 percent of the work and had Web123 chip in to help with the other half. This was mostly due to the time constraints involved in transferring across 200 pages of content, so we decided to enlist their expert services. It was still an extremely cost effective way to build the site. I had no previous experience in website development or design and I was able to get stuck in easily.
It’s quite unusual for a medical practice to have such a vibrant, dynamic website – it’s certainly improved our overall traffic and our Google ranking. In fact we’re going to revisit SEO with Web123 in the next few months.
The biggest result has been an internal one, with the ability to make changes ourselves. The doctors especially love knowing that the website can be changed that day, within minutes, when new information comes to hand, such as updates to medical and health industry news, patient information and schedules. And all of this puts our practice ahead of the rest.
The team at Web123 was very down to earth and super-responsive. For example I would get phone calls at 8pm at night from the team saying “we can see you’re online updating the website, is there anything we can do to help?” That level of service is exceptional.
